The development of an electronic customs system is one of the most important objectives of the European Union.
The optimization of data exchange and the quality of information provided by market participants are the result of working methods adapted to current trading realities. For example, customs procedures at EU level have gradually evolved from paper to electronic procedures.
In this context, Europe has developed the Multi-Annual Strategic Plan for Electronic Customs (MASP-C), which proposes the program for the development of electronic customs systems across Europe.
Since the terms used in the context of MASP-C are very specific, you can find the (English) glossary of the European Commission in the field of customs here (https://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/glossary_nl)
